SUMMARY:The Serene World of Guqin
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”26977″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Date: 01/04/2022 20:00 \nVenue: Dom Pedro V Theatre \nThe art of guqin (a seven-string zither) has a 3000-year-long tradition and was inscribed by UNESCO on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2003. The guqin art embodies Chinese literati’s lofty and transcendent ideal; with its deep and delicate sound\, guqin played a significant role in Chinese literati culture. The legend about guqin\, High Mountains and Flowing Water\, is well known and fascinating. \nAt nine\, renowned guqin player Chen Leiji began to learn the art with guqin virtuoso Gong Yi and he had since been studying guqin until graduation. For a while he lived and studied music in France\, where he held nearly 100 guqin recitals. In 2005\, his guqin solo album won the award World Music Best Performance Album\, from the Académie Charles Cros in France. At the 2008 opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games he enchanted the world audience with his guqin solo performance. \nIn this special guqin concert\, Chen will interpret several guqin classics including Flowing Water\, Missing Old Friends\, and Wild Geese over the Calm Sands\, besides presenting contemporary works for guqin and Chinese traditional chamber ensemble together with the Macao Chinese Orchestra. \nCurious about how the guqin from ancient times soothe the soul with its clear\, serene\, subtle music? Don’t miss this rare chance! \nProgramme Highlights: \n\n\n\n\n\nTitles \n\n\nSolo \n\n\nComposer/Arranger \n\n\n\nFlowing Water\nGuqin: Chen Leiji\nScore: Gu Meigeng & Wei Zhongle\nComp. SUMMARY:Concerts in Museums
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”26983″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text] \nDate: 12/04/2022 11:00\, 12:00 \nVenue: Macao Museum \nWhat about bringing traditional Chinese music into exhibition venues to create a unique artistic experience? \nThe Macao Chinese Orchestra continues to cooperate with museums in Macao\, including the Macao Museum\, the Macao Museum of Art\, the Macao Tea Culture House and the Jao Tsung-I Academy\, in presenting wonderful concerts in the historical and artistic atmosphere of the museums. Some of the performances will take on concurrent thematic exhibitions\, performing musical works that resonate with their cultural and artistic themes. Using music to interpret the exhibition themes would deepen audiences’ understanding while enhancing their aesthetic enjoyment\, thus creating unique exhibition-going and artistic experiences. \nTraditional Chinese music flows in exhibition venues where music meets arts. Simply fantastic!\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
