The opening concert of the Macao Chinese Orchestra 2022-23 Season – Impression of Taihang Mountains will be directed by Bian Zushan, one of the greatest and most famous conductors in the music scene in China. Maestro Bian will lead the audience into an indulgence of the vast sea of Chinese music. This concert will feature well-known classics by such “great masters of traditional Chinese music” as Peng Xiuwen, Pu Dongsheng and Liu Wenjin, including A Moonlit Night on the Spring River, The Moon Reflected on the Er-quan Spring, Suite of Jiangsu Folk Songs. Indeed an engaging retrospective night of classic Chinese music from the 1950s-1970s!
