Assistant Conductor|Xu Xinchi

Xu is a young Chinese music conductor and composer who learned the Erhu at an early age. As a Chinese music conductor, Xu has conducted many large-scale Chinese orchestral, chamber and ensemble concert, successfully cooperated with renowned orchestras. He has long been the conductor of Shenzhen Shuofeng Chinese Chamber Orchestra, being responsible for its daily rehearsals and directing performances. As a Chinese music composer, Xu has won many awards in professional composition competitions or open calls. In 2015, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Traditional Chinese Music Conducting, from the Conducting Department of Shanghai Conservatory of Music, where he studied under Professor Dai Luqing and Professor Wang Yongji successively. In 2021, Xu graduated from Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) where he studied under Professor Yan Huichang, with a master’s degree in Chinese Music Conducting.

Xu has also made achievements in the field of Western music as well. He once worked in Shenzhen Grand Theatre as Resident Assistant Conductor of its Philharmonic Orchestra, and as Programming Officer of its Programming Department, while also serving as the regular conductor of Youth Philharmonic Orchestra of Shenzhen Grand Theatre.
