Twenty seven years of return, celebrated through Macao’s most authentic melodies. Composer Kuan Nai-chung, who has long captured the city’s spirit in three Rhapsodies of Macao, now debuts the much anticipated Macao Rhapsody No. 4 at this concert. Blending Chinese and Portuguese musical elements with powerful percussion, the new work shines as a testament to Macao’s cultural fusion. All four rhapsodies will ring out together, joined by Eric Watson’s romantic Night of Macao, as the orchestra pays a stirring tribute to twenty seven years of pride and reunion.
